One of the reasons I love my job is children make me smile. When the bell rings for school to be out I spend about half an hour helping students get out the door by calling their walking friends, parents who forgot to pick up etc. Today was one of those days. Two brothers were sitting on the stairs quite late so I asked if they called home and had a ride. One boy said our mom is having a baby. I said right now and he said yes grandma is coming. I then asked is she having a boy or a girl and he said a boy and the other brother said yeah a boy and when she found out she was stinking mad! but now she is ok with it. Now doesn't that make you smile?

The best days are when the families come to visit. We have Sunday dinner together at least 2 times a month. We tend Jenny and Ryder on Wednesdays after work and Ashton and Parker Monday and Wednesday. We have 9 grandchildren and love them all. When they come to visit it is so busy playing that I don't get the camera out but I will get some more pics posted soon of them all. They grow so fast.
How much fun can you have in 2 days?

The purpose of the trip: The Ellen Degeneres Show
Warner Brothers Studio tour
Tara's favorite part of the tour, being where Gilmore Girls was filmed. She recognized all the buildings before our guide got them out. She is standing in front of Rorie's reading tree. (Do you think it's Tara's secret wish is to have her own reading tree?
The intimate tour cars we rode in.
I have to say it was a fun girl's outing and so unlike us to hop a plane and leave the family behind but we did it. It all started with Tara getting tickets to the show. Then their husbands took off work to tend the kiddos. (thanks guys) We flew into Burbank, rented a car and stayed in Burbank. We shopped, enjoyed the warmth and sun, ate at fun local places (some good some ok), found a cuban bakery that was the hot spot of town, toured the Warner Brothers studio, viewed the taping of Ellen, talked into the wee hours of the night, slept and flew home. One of my favorite things is when we were on the tour and Ellen drove up and parked her brand new black Porsche in her parking spot, got out, and waved. Our driver said keep your cameras down, no pictures so we obeyed. But Ellen was kind enough to acknowledge us for a minute. Then after the show we were waiting to cross the street and Tony drove out, then Ellen drove out. It was a fun.
